Research Interests

My work focuses on the pathogenesis and treatment of mucinous cystic neoplasms (MCN) in the pancreas. MCN have an unusual predilection for women (20:1 female-to-male prevalence) and a pathognomonic "ovarian stroma." Combining in vivo and in vitro studies based on a genetically engineered mouse model of the disease, I am investigating the unique signaling relationships between tumor cells and stromal cells and developing ways to exploit them therapeutically.
