Dr. Margaret Madeleine's major research focus is the molecular epidemiology of pathogens and the immune response to them that may be associated with cancer development and prognosis. She is also interested in the role that chronic subclinical immune disregulation (such as occurs with age, obesity, physical inactivity, hormone use, and UV exposure) may play in carcinogenesis.
Dr. Madeleine is an Associate Professor in Public Health Sciences Division at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health, at the University of Washington. She received an MPH in Epidemiology from Yale University and a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Washington.
