Our Research

Our research goal is to uncover the basic processes that coordinate hematopoietic stem cell function during homeostasis, stress, and disease. The projects in our lab focus on the intrinsic and extrinsic cues that support the maintenance and regeneration of the hematopoietic system after radiation and chemotherapy.

The main tools we use to assess stem cell function are transgenic mouse models, in vivo stem cell transplantation assays, patient-derived xenografts, confocal microscopy, super-resolution microscopy, basic biochemistry/molecular genetics, and RNA sequence analysis.

Our projects are funded by the NIDDK, NCI, AHA, & V Foundation.
