Dr. Lee grew up in Seattle and attended the University of Washington as an undergrad before getting her medical degree at Stanford University, then completing her hematology/oncology fellowship training and Assistant Professorship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Since joining Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in 2006, she has built a research program focusing on HCT survivors. As a member of the Clinical Research Division, Lee is an attending physician for outpatients in the Long–Term Follow–Up Program and inpatients in the Transplant Program. When not at work, she enjoys relaxing with her two sons and husband, hiking, and reading books.

Fun fact: Stephanie enjoys reading the older works of Dean Koontz, Jennifer Weiner, anything by Emily Giffin, Jojo Moyes and most science fiction in her down time.

Originally from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia; Monji moved to Seattle to attend University of Washington, where she majored in Microbiology and minored in Classics. She worked in her chosen field of microbiology doing yeast genetic research before pivoting to clinical research to work more closely in patient care. Outside of work, Monji is continuing her education by earning her MPH at UW and trying fun, new restaurants in the Greater Seattle area.

Fun fact: Monji's recent favorite restaurants in the Seattle area are Uminori and Communion.

Gaby graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. After working in the biotechnology industry for 2 years, she joined Dr. Lee's team in 2022 to be closer to patients in the spectrum of biomedical research. When she isn’t working on the team’s many clinical studies and meeting with our wonderful patients, Gaby enjoys reading, walking, and trying new recipes.

Fun fact: Gaby enjoys visiting librarires around the city and her favorite book is "Eva Luna" by Isabel Allende.

Julianne graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Psychology and completed a Master's Degree in Environmental Planning at Queen's University Belfast. Outside of work, she enjoys foraging for seasonal ingredients and cooking meals with friends. She joined Dr. Lee’s team in 2017.

Fun fact: Julianne's favorite food is dim sum

Taara is currently a Junior undergraduate student at the University of Washington studying a double degree in Biochemistry and Dance. She joined Dr. Lee’s team in June of 2023 as a research assistant and since then has learned so much about the nuances and intricacies regarding clinical research.  Taara enjoys playing and teaching piano, as well as working in her community to teach inclusive and adaptive dance. In her spare time she likes exploring different neighborhoods of Seattle and going on walks.

Fun fact: She is always up for ice cream at any time of the day!

Marcie has an undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond (Go Spiders!) and a graduate degree from the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. After practicing as an equine vet for a year, she decided to switch to a career where she’s less likely to be kicked. Marcie joined Dr. Lee’s team in 2010. She loves the challenge of managing all the moving parts of clinical trials. One of her main goals is making research participation as seamless as possible for the many generous patients at Fred Hutch. In her free time, Marcie enjoys thinking about going for a run, spending time by the ocean with her family, and trying to read lots of books.

Fun fact: Marcie's favorite food is sushi followed by bubble tea.

Tara graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Wright State University and has 20 years of experience in operations, research, and clinical trial administration. She joined Dr. Lee’s team in 2013 and provides fiscal management and oversight of the adult Bone Marrow Transplant program. On weekends, she can be found skiing the slopes of Snoqualmie Pass.

Fun fact: Tara's favorite book of all time is a toss-up between "Cryptonomicon" by Neal Stephenson and "Geek Love" by Katherine Dunn.

Lynn Onstad, MS

Lynn has a BA in Mathematics from St. Olaf College and a ScM in Biostatistics from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She has worked at Fred Hutch for many years, starting in the Public Health Science division before joining Dr. Lee’s team in 2016. Outside of work she enjoys hiking, sporting events, and spending time with her family.

Fun fact: Lynn's favorite cuisine is Indian, Thai and Greek.

Kenna is a senior at Interlake High School. She joined Dr. Lee’s team as an intern in October of 2023 and thoroughly enjoys learning from those around her at the Lee Lab. Outside of the lab, you can find her either catching up on Attack on Titan episodes or skiing at Snoqualmie! 

Fun fact: Kenna is a bit of a matcha connoisseur.

Chloe graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. degree in Biology. She was a student research assistant on Dr. Elizabeth Krakow's team at Fred Hutch during her time at UW. After working as a neuropsychiatric clinical research assistant for 2 years, Chloe joined Dr. Lee’s team in 2022 and is excited to be back at Fred Hutch. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and traveling.

Emily graduated from the University of Washington and worked in the Hospitality Industry for 15 years.   After being inspired by the care she personally received on her own cancer journey in 2006, she started her career at Fred Hutch and joined Dr. Lee’s team in 2023 providing fiscal management over her clinical trials.  In addition to her work at the Hutch, Emily is also a Patient Advocate for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network.  In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with her family and friends, walking her Dalmatian along Alki Beach or researching new recipes to make.

Fun fact: Emily has been to Disneyland over 50 times!
