Our Research
The Markey lab was established in October 2021 at Fred Hutch in Seattle; we are a growing cross-disciplinary team that aims to draw together clinical knowledge, microbiology expertise, transplant immunology skills, molecular biology and sequencing techniques and computational biology. We aim to use both clinical samples and pre-clinical models to understand the relationships between the microbiome, the metabolites it produces and outcomes of cancer therapy, particularly for patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation and immunotherapy for hematological malignancies.
