Dr. Kim obtained his PhD in Molecular Cell Biology from Washington University in St. Louis. His thesis work was done in the laboratory of Dr. Hani Zaher investigating how cells utilize the protein translation machinery, particularly ribosomes, to sense and respond to dynamic environmental conditions.
Jonathan received his BS in Medical Biology/Medical Sciences from the University of New England while working in establishing a Preclinical model of Breakthrough Cancer Pain. As an in-vivo pharmacologist his work primarily focuses on targeted oncology, neurobiology and rare diseases.
James has an MS in Professional Sciences from Middle Tennessee State University where he studied business and human biology. His background is in understanding how changes at the genomic level leads to diseased states. He believes that innovation is best achieved when people from various specialties collaborate to solve problems.
Dr. Andrew Brane received his Ph.D. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham working under Dr. Trygve Tollefsbol. His past work examined critical periods as a means for the dietary prevention of breast cancer as well as how gene-specific epigenetic states can affect cancer cell biology. Andrew joined Fred Hutch in July 2024 and is interested in discerning genetic and epigenetic mechanisms underlying cancers and how these mechanisms can be utilized to increase the efficacy of cancer treatments.
