Dr. Salene M. W. Jones is a clinical psychologist, psychometrician and behavioral scientist. Her research interests focus on reducing the financial burden of cancer and preventing financial hardship from interfering with cancer risk reduction. She also studies the measurement of quality of life, depression, anxiety and financial burden. Dr. Jones completed a doctorate in psychology at the Ohio State University and completed her residency in behavioral medicine and neuropsychology at Harborview Medical Center and the University of Washington Medical Center. Dr. Jones completed her post-doctoral training in women’s health services research at Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute.
Ali is a postdoctoral researcher at the Jones Lab with an MD, a Healthcare MBA, and an MPH in Health Policy. Prior to joining the team, he completed his MPH thesis at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he examined how social factors influence cancer prognosis. He was also selected for the Career Catalyst Cohort at the Harvard Clinical and Translational Science Center. At the Jones Lab, his research focuses on the role of social determinants in cancer diagnosis and survival, as well as the development of tools to better capture patient-reported outcomes. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors.
Diana is a senior-level professional in the cancer clinical research arena. She provides program management support to the Jones Lab. Her mission is to have a meaningful impact with investigators on the lives of people with or at risk for cancer. Her key accomplishments include developing and managing multi-site cancer research programs. Diana creates processes and infrastructure to facilitate research collaboration across organizational senior directors, scientific faculty, and study sponsors. She believes that great reputations and organizational success are built on clear mission, strong values, and actions of substance. She is passionate about and energized by fostering teams that are interested in making positive contributions to the lives of people and communities affected by cancer.
Paola is a Research Project Interviewer at Collaborative Data Services, Fred Hutch Cancer Center. She has a background in clinical training, research, and medical education, with certifications in clinical research, artificial intelligence in medicine, and emergency care. She has also co-authored peer-reviewed publications. At the Jones Lab, she supports the team by conducting interviews with Spanish-speaking participants.
