Title: Graduate Student (Beronja Lab)
Email: cmills2@fredhutch.org
Claire is a dual DDS/PhD student currently studying mechanisms of head and neck cancer growth and recurrence. She graduated from the University of Michigan in 2016 and started training at the University of Washington in 2017. After graduating dental school in 2021, she transitioned to full-time PhD training at Fred Hutch in the Beronja and Setty labs.
Claire’s project is to use multiomic single-cell techniques to explore underlying mechanisms driving cancer growth and recurrence. Her goal is to develop a model of cellular transformation that she can then test in vivo.
In her free time, you can find Claire in the dental clinic treating patients, at home playing piano, or outside hiking or kayaking!
