Through the UCI-Fred Hutch Collaboration, the Uganda Cancer Institute and Fred Hutch Cancer Center partner to conduct cancer and infectious disease research and to support capacity building for research and clinical care at the UCI. The Hutchinson Centre Research Institute of Uganda (HCRI-Uganda) is a Fred Hutch subsidiary based in Kampala, Uganda that enables Fred Hutch Global Oncology to collaborate with the UCI. The Collaboration is led scientifically by Drs. Jackson Orem, executive director of the UCI, and Edus H. Warren, head of Global Oncology. Together, researchers aim to evaluate or develop new cancer diagnostics and therapies relevant to low-resource settings and train the next generation of global cancer physicians and researchers.
The website provides information and resources for HCRI-Uganda / Fred Hutch employees in Uganda and our partners at the UCI.
