Emily graduated from the Ohio State University in 2018 with a BS in Molecular Genetics. During their undergraduate career, Emily worked in the lab of Dr. Sharon Amacher studying the role of Myosin light chain genes on muscle development and function using zebrafish as a model organism. After graduating, Emily worked as a technician in Dr. Bradley Blaser’s lab at the OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center studying how the microenvironment of the blood stem cell niche maintains stem cell diversity. Emily joined the Molecular and Cellular Biology PhD program in fall 2021. Emily is interested in studying the role of Parkinson Disease related genes and their effects on neuron-glia interactions.

When not at the bench, Emily enjoys boxing, hiking, kayaking, and going to local drag shows.
