German graduated from Pomona College in 2018 with a degree in Neuroscience. During his time there, he worked in the labs of Dr. Elizabeth Glater and Dr. Karl Johnson. In Dr. Elizabeth Glater's lab he studied the olfactory basis for pathogen recognition in C. elegans. In the lab of Dr. Karl Johnson, he worked on identifying Chondroitin Sulfate Proteoglycans in Drosophila melanogaster. In the fall of 2018, he joined the Graduate Program in Neuroscience at the University of Washington and joined the lab of Dr. Singhvi.

Outside the lab, German likes to go bouldering, spending time outside with friends, and listening and dancing to live music. He hopes to go backpacking more and explore the beautiful nature of Washington.
