Thamiya completed her graduate studies in Dr. John Rubinstein’s lab at the Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto. For her PhD work, she used electron cryomicroscopy (cryoEM) to study the structure and dynamics of vacuolar-type ATPases. Thamiya's general research interests are in understanding the structure and function of membrane proteins. In the Campbell lab, she will be using cryoEM to study the Mac-1 integrin. Outside of the lab she enjoys baking and hiking.
