We develop gene and cell therapies for a spectrum of human diseases. Our focus is on curative treatments for people living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which persists in distinct anatomical sites known as viral reservoirs. Our goal is to engineer distinct immune cells to better detect infected cells, produce more potent antiviral molecules, and travel to any viral reservoir site where the virus may hide. Our long term goal is to adapt the same gene and cell therapy tools to treat a broad array of infectious, malignant, genetic, and neurodegenerative diseases.
