About Alex: Alex grew up in the Seattle area where he received his B.S. in microbiology at the University of Washington. Building on his experience with cell culture and molecular biology in the Malik lab, work in the Peterson Lab includes benchmarking the activity of engineered immune cells and their impacts on persistent viral infections. His research interests include vaccine and therapeutic development, molecular biology, and virology. In his free time Alex enjoys exploring the outdoors, watching the Mariners, cooking, and playing guitar.
