About Lucy: Lucy is a PhD student in the Bioengineering program at UW, and is co-mentored by Dr. Peterson and Dr. Kiem. Her PhD focuses on developing next-generation CAR-T cells for HIV and cancer. Prior to starting her PhD, Lucy spent time working at Sana Biotechnology and the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub in San Francisco. Lucy holds a BS in Bioengineering from Stanford University, where she worked in the lab of Dr. Lacra Bintu, studying epigenetics.
About Jason: Jason graduated from The Ohio State University with dual majors in Zoology and Japanese where he trained as a limnologist in the lab of Dr. David Culver before moving to Seattle to study muscle biophysics and gene therapy with Drs. Mike Regnier and Farid Moussavi-Harami. His expertise in circulation flowed naturally into his current work in the labs of Drs. Hans-Peter Kiem and Chris Peterson, pioneering new methods for gene-edited molecular therapy in blood.
Outside of the lab Jason enjoys bicycles, boating, backpacking, baking, and birding. He has seen more than 100 birds.
